Alexander (Sasha) Itsekson

Alexander (Sasha) Itsekson, Structural Engineer, began his career as a design engineer in his native Moscow before immigrating to the United States in 1991. Sasha built his experience and reputation at several well-known Bay Area engineering firms prior to becoming a professional engineer in California.

In 2001 Sasha received his California Professional Structural Engineering license and founded Enginious Structures, Inc. to provide cost-effective, sustainable, efficient and practical structural engineering solutions to his clients.

Today, Mr. Itsekson is licensed in most of the Western United States and is a LEED AP.

Sasha has completed design work on commercial, industrial, institutional and residential structures of various sizes and construction types. Special focuses include new custom homes, earthquake strengthening of buildings (especially seismically vulnerable soft-story buildings) and structural design of cladding components for glazing manufacturers and contractors. In addition, Sasha understands the intricacies of post fire disaster rebuilding and offers a variety of fire restoration services to help home owners rebuild following disaster. These services have given Sasha extensive experience working with insurance companies and insurance adjusters.

Sasha’s designs customarily utilize sustainable construction techniques and materials such as reclaimed wood, engineered lumber, ICF and SIP walls on projects when applicable. He produces custom plans that have a minimum amount of “standard” details. Clients save on final construction costs because Sasha’s complete detailed drawings eliminate many ambiguities of standardized plans, tightening and lowering bids from contractors while minimizing change orders.
